Overview The SM5 helmet is designed to provide MX riders with optimal protection and comfort. It features a lightweight thermo-injected shell with a special polymer blend and a five-density EPS liner for enhanced impact absorption.
Construction
  • Lightweight outer shell made from advanced impact-resistant thermoplastic available in three anatomical shell sizes.
  • Three individual EPS inner liner sizes combined with inner lining and cheek padding to offer six unique sizes for best fit and protection.
  • Medium to 2XL lower shell volume increased by ~3% for easier on/off and improved impact management.
  • Multiple density inner liner to ensure correct density placement for enhanced impact absorption.
  • Redesigned chin bar with relief section raised to clear the collarbone and softer EPS liner extending beyond shell, covered by flexible rubber compound to reduce collarbone injury risk.
  • Maximized ventilation and heat transfer via multi-air inlets and exhaust.
Protection
  • Certified to ECE 22.06 standard with 44% better regular-speed impact rating, 32% better low-speed, and 31% better high-speed linear impact scores compared to previous standards.
  • Low friction inner EPS liner surface to minimize rotational oblique impact forces, scoring 70% under the new rotational impact regulation.
  • Patented visor release system releases visor at a predetermined force regardless of impact angle to improve safety.
  • Engineered raised padding reduces forces transmitted to the collarbone.
